No Sharp Objects

Oh What a Night

For the next few nights this week we’re going to be recording a class on Night Photography with Rob Sheppard. woot! I’m totally psyched for many reasons 1) Rob is an awesome teacher and makes my job easy, plus he’s really nice 2) I can’t wait to learn this stuff. I got my tripod last week and seriously need some direction 3) light painting. like the sprint commercials. OMG cool! 4) Offsite shoots are fun. Turns out its $500 a day to get a permit to record in Addison Circle Park (less than 100m from our studio), which is simply ridiculous but a change of scenery is so worth it 5) I’ve enlisted my boyfriend as a grip for our shoot. That means I get to make him carry around stuff, and now he can’t say that he has no idea what I do at my job. It’s a lot of work to do off-site complicated shoots like this but it’s really great for a change of pace. Last shoot like this we went to a wildlife park and I nearly got eaten by a giraffe, and completely eaten by mosquitoes. But I got to pet a cheetah, seriously, who else does that?!

Check out some of Rob’s test shoots for the class:
